Our competitions are simple. You generally win by scoring the most points in a round or the season, although sometimes we may need a tie-breaker! OR
You can win a random player prize simply by entering and playing, regardless of how well you do! OR
You can win our “Last man standing” Bankers pool prize.
The Mechanics of “How to do it…”
Each week simply login and click on the “Enter my predictions” tab in the top centre of the screen. Then select the week/round coming up that needs predicting by clicking on it. Note weeks/rounds that you have yet to enter any predictions for are flagged.
Enter the goals you think each team will score in the matches displayed. Note there is no upper limit so be careful you don’t type in strange numbers such as “22” or “31” the system won’t reject them! To help, you will see two pop-ups as you scroll over the predictions screen. One tells you each team’s results from the last three games played; the other tells you, as a percentage, the current cumulative status of all predictions made and saved by our players and Magic Mike’s tip for the game. It’s a bit like “ask the audience” and “phone a friend” in this case “Magic Mike”.
The scores you have entered tell our system whether you are expecting a “Home win” “Away win” or “Draw” basic result from any given game. NOW select one of the games as your “Banker” by checking the Banker box. This game should be the game you feel most confident about for the basic “Home/Away/Draw” result – the goals don’t matter for the “Banker” selection.
When you have entered the scores and your banker make sure you click the “SAVE” button at the bottom of the screen. You will receive a message in red confirming that your predictions have been saved in the system. Make sure you get this confirmation. If needs be, click on the “SAVE” button a couple of times to save it.
To update or change your predictions repeat the process anytime after logging in, BUT MAKE SURE YOU SAVE every time you do so.
How you score in Score Five – For the basic fixture results
You score TWO points for getting the basic result correct (A to beat B; B to beat A; or a draw), regardless of the actual score. AND
You score ONE point for each team’s goals you correctly predict, regardless of the actual result. AND
If you get both teams’ goals correct you score an extra ONE bonus point for a ”Perfect Five” - Score Five!!!
And for your Banker…
If you get the basic result correct and chose it as your Banker you score another extra FIVE Banker Bonus points, unless the Banker bonus is modified for special competitions e.g., the World Cup. ALSO
Your Banker is entered into a Bankers' knockout progression elimination prize pool. So long as you keep getting your Banker correct you stay alive in the Bankers' prize pool. Get it wrong and you lose a Banker's life. You are eliminated from the Banker's pool game when you lose your third Bankers life. You start with 3 lives represented on the league tables by a "$" sign for each remaining unused life.
Players who are still standing in this competition and the number of lives remaining are designated by [a] blue $ sign[s] after their name.
Yes they're a little bit long, but that's the way these things are. Basically they work on eliminations and a count back process.
Major competition prize - Season Long Global Champ
For the season long Global Champ Game prize, in the event that two or more players are tied for the total number of points at the end of that Game competition (the end of Round 38), the player scoring the most bonus points for correctly tipping the correct match results and scores throughout the duration of that Game competition, shall be the winner.
In the event that two or more players still remain tied after this tie breaker test, the winner will be the player of the remaining tied players that has scored the most bonus points in the final Game round.
If players still remain tied after this second tie breaker test, there will be a count back to the previous round (and such previous rounds as may be necessary, round by round) of the remaining tied players who will be eliminated one-by-one on the basis of failing to score the most bonus points in a round, and the player with the single most bonus points scored in the previous relevant round will be the winner.
If the tie breaker test still fails to produce a winner, the winner will be determined on the basis of the timing of the receipt of their final scoring tips for the final round 38, according to the Score Five system, with the remaining players being eliminated on a count-back i.e., the winner will be the player whose scoring tips were received first for that round.
Major competition prizes -Individual round-by-round winners "highest” and “lowest” points won in a single winning round and second and third place winners
There are 38 round competitions in this Game; one for each round producing 38 individual round winners and 38 winning scores. The individual round-by-round "highest points" Game competition winner is the player from these 38 round winners who at the end of the season scored the most points to win any of these 38 single round competitions.
Individual round by round winners tiebreaker: To determine each of the 38 individual round winners from rounds 1 - 38, the winner will be the person who scores the most points overall in that round. Tiebreaker: Where we have more than one person tied on points for any given round, the winner will be the person, if anyone, who scored the most bonus points in that round. If two or more players are still tied after this tiebreaker test then the player who tipped the banker correctly will win.
If there is still a tie after the "banker" test any remaining players will be eliminated one-by-one on the basis of the timing of the receipt of their final scoring tips for that round, according to the Score Five system, with players being eliminated on a count back i.e., the winner will be the player whose scoring tips were received first for that round.
Overall individual round prize winner tiebreaker: If at the end of the season we have from our 38 round winners more than one person tied on the most points won to win any of the individual round winners titles, the winner will be the person who won the most individual rounds in the entire season.
If the "rounds won" winner test fails to produce a winner, or two or more players remain tied on the number of rounds won, the winner will be the player from those remaining whose individual winning round had the most bonus points for correctly tipping the exact score of a match. If two or more players are still tied then the player from those remaining who tipped the most bankers correctly during the entire season will win.
If players are still tied after the "bankers" tipping tiebreaker then the player from those remaining with the most points from all aspects of the tipping game will win.
If two or more players are still tied, the remaining player actively playing the most rounds will win. If players are still tied the player finishing higher in the final season standings will win. If there is still a tie after the "banker" test any remaining players will be eliminated one-by-one on the basis of the timing of the receipt of their final scoring tips for their winning round[s], according to the Score Five system, with players being eliminated on a count back i.e., the winner will be the player whose scoring tips were received furthest away from the prediction deadline of their winning round.
Second, Third and lowest winner prizewinner tiebreaker: The runner up tiebreaker will follow the same methodology as the overall competition 2 prizewinner tiebreaker.
Major competition - Bankers Pool "Last man standing"
The winner of the bankers' knockout game is the "last man standing". If we get to a stage where after 38 rounds we have more than one person left standing the winner will be the person with the greatest number of lives left.
If two or more players have the same greatest number of lives left, the winner will be the player from these had the most points from all aspects of the tipping game for the entire system. If there is still a tie, the remaining players will be eliminated one-by-one on the basis of the timing of the receipt of their final Round 38 scoring tips, according to the Score Five system, with players being eliminated on a count back i.e., the winner will be the player whose scoring tips were received first for that round.
If the last survivors all get eliminated at the same time during the season the winner will be determined using the same foregoing end of season/round 38 methodology.
