How to play
There's no change to the basic Score Five game.

Predict each match's scoreline and get 2 points for the correct basic Home, Away, Draw result implicit in your prediction PLUS 1 extra point for each correct predicted goals scored by either team PLUS 1 bonus point (to make 5 in all – a “Perfect Five”) if you get both teams' scores correct.

Banker bonuses are available: 1 point for the correct basic result in the group stages (15 rounds in all); 3 points for each of the four rounds in the last 16 knock out; and then 5 points for each of the quarter and semis & finals rounds.

And (NEW) extra points can be won for correctly predicting each of the group winners (2 points) and runners up (1 point).

Play as an individual in our public leagues and/or in your own easy to create private leagues. Either way you'll be benchmarked against everyone in our truly global game!


Missed a round?
Don't worry “Five Lives” to the rescue in a 4 + 1 modified format to our usual game...In the group stages you can miss up to four rounds and automatically get Magic Mike's predictions. Thereafter we wipe the slate clean and you get one life more for all rounds through to the final round itself.

Special Rules for our World Cup 2010 competition games and additional terms & conditions


1.The World Cup competition starts with the first day's group stage matches and finishes at the end of regular time of the final of the World Cup 2010. Tips/predictions must be entered and saved 30 minutes before the first game of each published round.


2.All points are awarded using the usual Score Five game based on the score after normal REGULAR time, injury time plus time added on only. Extra time, penalty shoot-outs, "Fergietime" and replays DO NOT count for the Score Five World Cup competition. (So you can predict a minnow holding out for a regular time draw!!!)


3.In the event that the ORIGINAL match is postponed for any reason it will still count in the ORIGINAL round for which it was scheduled regardless of when it is subsequently played. Tips/predictions will stand as originally entered i.e., no revisions will be allowed.


4.There is no “Last man standing” competition in the World Cup competition.


5.Players receive up to four lives in the group stages of the competition. Thereafter any unused lives are forfeited, the slate wiped clean and players receive ONE life for all the remaining rounds of the competition. Rememebr: Entries must be submited and saved 30 minutes before the kick off of the first game of each published round.


6.Group winner/runner up bonus: Two extra points are won by correctly nominating each of the group stage winners. If your nominated group winner is a runner up you still get one point. One extra point is won if your nominated runner up either wins the group, or is the group runner up. The lock in time for this element of the World Cup competition bonus is 30 minutes before the South Africa vs. Uruguay match in Group A, currently scheduled to kick off at 18:30hours GMT on 16th June 2010.


7.To win one of our poll prizes you must poll and either be a registered player, OR provide us with your email details. We will attempt to contact potential poll prize winners once by email using the address they have provided and ask them to verify the mailing address to which prizes will be sent. If no response is received within 96 hours of our verification request the prize will be reallocated using the same basis.

8. Our usual prize tie breaker rules apply except to the jackpot and consolation prize pools which are shared equally amongst all eligible winners.

9. Prizes:

Score Five's World Cup game prizes include, as of 3rd June 2010:Updated 24th June 2010:

(a) One jackpot pool prize of US$50,000 to be shared by any eligible participants who correctly predict the exact scoreline in ten group stage games as specified by Score Five. And one jackpot prize of US$10,000 to be shared by any eligible participants who correctly predict the correct scoreline in the eight group of 16 stage games.

(b) One consolation pool prize of US$10,000 to be shared by any eligible participants who correctly predict the exact scoreline in any nine of the ten group stage games as specified by Score Five for the jackpot pool prize.

(c) To the person scoring the most points overall for the entire World Cup competition; One pair of economy tickets on Virgin Atlantic departing from the nearest Virgin Atlantic destination located to the winner's ordinary place of residence, to London Heathrow or Gatwick airport; Or in the event that the winner resides in the UK or a country not directly serviced by Virgin Atlantic, two economy tickets from London Heathrow or Gatwick to New York or Newark. NOTE the winner is responsible for payment of any taxes and surcharges as well as the costs of getting to and from the airport of departure and return. Blackout periods around Christmas, New Year, Easter and certain high season periods apply depending on location. A cash alternative of US$500 is available.

(d) To the leader at the end of the group stage of the competition US$250.

(e) To our competition long runner up cash GBP250.

(f & g)To our competition long third and fourth place players cash GBP150 and GBP100 respectively.

(h) To the player scoring the most points in all the “Round of 16 games” alone - US$250.

(i) To the player scoring the most points in all the quarter, semi and finals games (inc 3rd and 4th spot play off) US$250.

Other prizes may be added.

11.The decision of the Score Five management on any aspect of the game and how prizes are awarded shall be binding and conclusive. In this regard Score Five reserves the right to change any terms and conditions in response to unforeseen circumstances and, as a condition of entry, all players in the Score Five World Cup 2010 competition must accept these and the other Score Five terms and conditions and game rules. Your registration entry into the World Cup 2010 competition as a player or email registration for the poll prize competition as a non-player signifies your acceptance thereof including any subsequent amendments that may be necessary.
